I enjoy my food. Do you?

Today is October.  It is a really nice month of the year.  The temps are cool, and the colors are pretty.  Baking is always fun to do.  I have browsed through a few cookbooks already today, and planned tomorrows  menu.  We will have "curried peanut soup", and "english toasting bread."  Both from scratch.  Today I made cinnabon rolls. Dan and I were looking forward to eating them!  We did enjoy 2 a piece with some fresh coffee.   :)
Looking back, on Molly's birthday, I did make apple bars.  They were really  good!!  The bottom layer was a crust, and for the apple layer, I cooked the apples on the stove top first, to carmelize them.  Then the topping was a brown sugar, oatmeal, crisp- type topping.  I froze most of them, but the last of them was eaten yesterday.
We are also really enjoying the locally grown apples!  They are in season now, and Dan and I eat a couple a day or more.
On Thursday we went to Milwaukee to visit Amy.  I made an onion/kohlrabi pie.  I made up the recipe, and I thought it turned out good.  I also made a cookie/bar that was really good!  It had an oatmeal crust, and a chocolate, butterscotch peanut topping.  I will not make those again for awhile, as they were too addicting!
I filled the hummingbird feeder today.  I have not seen one for many days.  But I want to have it there just in case one comes by.  I have been told that hummingbirds will often depend on a feeder until they leave the area, as late as the end of November.
Our garden was an enjoyable endeavor.  We learned what we want to grow more of next year, and what we want to grow less of.  We learned how we want to lay it out too.  I canned and froze many tomatoes.  We froze peppers, zucchini, squash, peas, corn.  I canned apple pie filling, applesauce, and dehydrated some apples.   Next year I would like to preserve much more food.
I took grandma on a ride back through the woods, on the trails in the gator.  All I will say is, I was the designated driver.
Dan and Silas are talking about the camping trip back in the woods as they stand  by the gator, which is packed and ready to go.  We love the gator!  It is so useful!!  And you can also tell, Silas liked his s'more!  He appears to have enjoyed it thoroughly!!
Oh, and what do you think of our pet spider?  She was huge!  The size of a small rodent.  She seems to have gone on a vacation.   ;)
