Bloggeroo

This has been a good summer.  It is July already.  It is still somewhat light outside at 9PM.  We have had very nice summer weather here.
Our summer has been uneventful.  We like it that way.
We went to a  friends wedding last weekend that was outdoors.  It was a very nice wedding, and the first outdoor wedding I have been  to.
I have picked many black raspberries already.  I have picked  about 10-12 quarts.  I froze most of them, and ate quite a few too.  I cover myself  from head  to toe when I go out to pick, covered to protect myself from mosquitoes, and plants with sharp prickers on them.  I wear a mosquito net over my head, which keeps the mosquitoes off my face, and I do not have to put repellent on my face.
I have  planted flowers in all our pots, and arranged them on the farm.  Dad has  planted a garden, and I have done a little planting, and much weeding.  There is more weeding to do, but it is too hot!  (I know how Stewie feels).    ;)
I will explain the pictures:
That is me in my garden hat.  It gets hot in the sun, and the air circulates in that hat.  The chin strap also is helpful, as it gets quite windy where we live!!
The picture of Dad, is on a Sunday as Daniel, Si, Dan and I went  back in the woods to the fire pit area, on the gator.  Silas wanted to have a picnic, so we did.  What we ate for our picnic was:  Homemade  whole wheat  bread, with homemade strawberry jam on.  Then we shared a large bar of  good dark chocolate and ate that with sectioned oranges.
The flowers are on the steps that go to the old white dairy  barn.  The flowers are finally starting the bloom nicely!
The garden picture is obviously the garden, and that was a couple weeks ago.
The peas, I shelled on Saturday.  I enjoy them  raw, and Dan prefers them cooked.
Daniel and Silas, at the kitchen table, was taken on the day of Silas's 6th birthday party.  We made him a cake, and gave him a snare drum.  He had a  nice time, and so did we.
I found the dark clouds quite interesting during this particular storm.  There were a  few tornadoes formed during this storm, but none that we saw.

We had a some friends over Sunday afternoon for a 4th of July picnic.  They have two children, 6 and 8.  We had a good day, and enjoyed the weather.  The kids enjoyed the gator rides of course.

The firefly's are out now.  I wish I could catch that on a picture.

:-) This post made me smile many times. I love your photos. Each one makes me feel a completely different way, and I like that experience.

Your summer (so far) sounds nice, indeed! The garden (and all that it's made up of) looks delicious and healthy. Speaking of those peas - we had some more of them today and will again tomorrow. So fresh - delesh (ha).

A 'family gathering' at your place sounds just about 'right' right now. :)

All of the pictures are SO great !!! I love that I get a chance to see everyone in them! You and dad, as well as Daniel and Silas! It is really nice also to see how the garden has transformed from the first picture (and only one) i have seen from a previous blog post. I am so jealous of your garden and all of the fresh fruits and veggies you are accumulating and enjoying throughout your meals and snack time!

The ride out to the woods sounds so lovely. A picnic with everyone sounds nice. I would really enjoy that. And how cute of Silas so ask that you all have a picnic together :) I bet he really enjoyed the drunk and cake on his birthday ! Great gift and the ice cream on his chin is funny. He must have enjoyed it !!!

I imagine the yard looks fabulous with all of the flower and garden you have going on. I would like to take a walk around it and see for myself !!!! With all of you along of course !!!
